Taylor + Caleb: Winter Elopement
They say, “home is where the heart is,” and for us, no matter where we end up in the world, we will always find ‘home’ in each other.
Caleb and I had a “world drumming” class in high school together and sat just a few seats away from each other. Although we weren’t in the same grade, we shared a similar friend group which always somehow brought us around the same places. It wasn’t until we were both out of college when we finally got together in the summer of 2018. Two days (no exaggeration) into our relationship, I told Caleb that I had planned to go to graduate school in the fall for a two-year MFA program, and the kicker... half of it was spent in Düsseldorf, Germany. With absolutely no hesitation, he confidently said: “I’ll go with you”. Next thing I knew, our flight was taking off as fast as our relationship had. From the comfort of our small town to getting lost together all over Europe, we did it together.
